You were late, at least twenty minutes. This was the fifth night you got barely any sleep, the pressure of exams was causing plenty of sleep deprivation. What else were you to do? It was sleep or failing, you rather not fail. Though it was logical for yourself, your best friend Alfred thought otherwise.
"Dude! This is the billionth time you are late," Alfred cried even though you were both at the library, cramming in last information.
"Shhh, quiet down, remember where we are smart ass," you said as you pouted.
"It's not my fault! I have a reason to yell, how do you expect the hero to save anyone, when the victim isn't around?" he asked, lowering his voice only slightly, that other students wouldn't complain.
"I am only victim to ridiculously hard algebra," you sighed, math was easy until letters were included.
"The hero can't save you from that," Alfred laughed.
"What's the hero worth then?" you sighed, biting at your pen top, getting annoyed at the fact you have to learn about Christopher Columbus discovery of America even though he wasn't the first to find it.
"I can help you study later, I have to go off and do hero stuff, I'll be at your house around 5," the American called, before you could respond with an answer, he was off. Letting out a big sigh as you closed the book you were reading from you head off back home to finish up and buy snacks so that Alfred won't finish the last of your food. Living in dorms was already expensive, there wasn't even enough for decent food, ramen could come in so many flavors.
You hear a loud knock on the door, it was surprising that he didn't barge in as always. You stand up from your desk, opening the door to be grabbed into a tight hug. You smile into the hug, hugging back as tightly. Pulling out of the hug you let Alfred inside.
He kicks his shoes to the side of the door, throwing his bag onto floor near the table. "Well now it's time to study!" he cheers, stretching his arms to the roof.
An hour passes by, you cover your mouth as you yawn loudly.
"You're tired?" America asked, he seemed to be still perfectly awake, it was probably because he had finished half the snacks he had brought himself and yours. You shake your head, but it was obvious with your dropping eyes, flickering as you read more boring information.
Alfred sighs deeply as stands up from his chair across for you, he begins to pull out your own. Holding onto the table you cry, "We need to keep studying."
"There is no point in studying when you don't remember anything, you barely can stay awake, let the hero help you," Alfred smiled. "I will drink some coffee and it'll be alright," you sigh.
"The hero doesn't take no for an answer," he chimed as he picked you easily, over his shoulders. "P-put me down!" you cried, your cheeks were turning a slight tint of pink.
"I can't, or the villains will get you!" he laughed heartily.
"What villains? The only people in the room is you and me," you try to reason with him.
"The villains of sleepiness," he says in all seriousness. You couldn't help but laugh at his determination of being a hero, it was quite cute to you. Alfred threw you lightly on your bed before laying down himself. He squished his arm under your head, turning to you grinning.
Your blush got darker, he was so close to you. This would be hard to explain if anyone saw but you don't make any signs of struggle maybe because you are too tired or you enjoy this predicament….
There was no doubt in your mind that you have a huge crush on Alfred, it has been over year now. You were sure that he liked a british girl but she began dating a french boy in your art class. Before going deeper into thought, Alfred snuggles closely, reaching his other arm over your waist.
The warmth of his body was making you more tired, leaning closer to him you could smell his cologne and coffee aroma. It wasn't overwhelming, you could smell this for hours. You couldn't help yourself as you covered your face with his chest, closing your eyes.
This romantic moment felt so right, it was as though you were meant to be in his arms, and you didn't mind being in them. You were curious to see Alfred's face, you looked up to see a surprisingly serious face, his cheeks were pink, it looked as if he was thinking deeply.
"Alfred?" you whispered, hating to break the silence.
His eyes flickered to you, his concentrated look disappeared to a smile, he leaned down, kissing you softly on the lips. You were shocked at first, it was no first kiss but it was more blissful than ones shared before. His lips were warm, and the way his lips molded to yours, it was if melting butter. All your body had a soothing feeling, you soon find yourself kissing back. Pulling away just for breathe, it was small gentle kiss but you find yourself out of breathe.
"I love you, ____" Alfred said softly, staring at you with soft blue eyes. Your heart skips a beat, how long you have waited for this moment, all the shooting stars and eyelashes wished on for this moment was worth it.
"I-I love you, too," you finally are able to spew out. Closing your eyes and reaching up, Alfred kisses you once again. All you feel is him, all you hear is his movements as he cups your cheek, all you smell is his scent, all you touch is his back as you cling. He is everything to you at the time, you are his everything, that thought couldn't make you anymore happier.
Your thoughts seem to drift off as you pull away from this kiss, snuggling closely once again, slumber finally gets the best of you.
